2019 Rural Road Maintenance and Rehab Forum – Croydon

Our Director, John Martin, presented at the IPWEAQ Rural Road Maintenance & Rehabilitation Forum held at Croydon, Queensland on 28th to 30th May 2019. The event included presentations from industry professionals and covered ‘best industry practice’ through discussions on local techniques and alternative processes, equipment and technologies. John’s topic was ‘Betterment and TMR RADAR App’ where he presented successful projects completed in Western Queensland and the difficulties that remote communities face.

The recent release of “The Roads and Transport Alliance Progress Report 2017-18” has featured one of ERSCON’s projects, Burketown Boat Ramp Vehicle Park. The Report features some amazing imagery of Before and After shots.
“Burke Shire Council undertook construction works to expand the Burketown boat ramp parking infrastructure following the recent completion of the Burketown boat ramp upgrade. Council crews constructed the 70 vehicle/trailer space carpark in approximately 10 weeks with sealing and line marking completed by external contractors. The new carpark is expected to greatly improve the amenity and safety of the boat ramp precinct and allow all-weather access and parking. “ – Alliance Report 2017/18

August 2018 – 150th Year Celebration Normanton

Normanton’s 150th Anniversary

ERSCON have made a donation of support to the upcoming 150 Year Celebration of Normanton township, to be held on the 4th to 8th August 2018. The event showcases a wide range of activities for residents, tourists and surrounding communities. July 2018 – Order of The Outback Ball, Burketown

ERSCON were delighted to have the opportunity to sponsor and attend the Order of the Outback Ball in Burketown. The event showcases a chosen individual or organisation that has shown enrichment to the lives of people living in the Australian Outback through their paid or unpaid work. Nominees can come from anywhere in Australia. This event, the award was presented to Johnathan Thurston for his work with Indigenous youth, establishment of NRL House in Townville, support of healthy diet, lifestyle and anti-drug campaigns on Cape York Peninsula and support of Recognise campaign, as well as much more. As well as Corporate Sponsorship, ERSCON also donated four Outback Ball tickets, which were raffled off prior to the event. All funds raised were donated to the local schools.

June 2018 – Cairns Wine Show

2018 Cairns Wine Show

The 2018 Cairns Wine Show was a successful event promoting tourism, the local wine market and assisting wineries with exposure in the region. This year ERSCON sponsored “Best Sparkling Wine in Show”, which was given first prize to Blue Pyrenees Estate, Midnight Cuvee Chardonnay 2014. The event was a lovely day had by all.
 

June 2018 – Normanton Rodeo

ERSCON recently attended the 43rd Normanton Rodeo, an event held each year in Normanton. ERSCON enjoyed celebrating a fun filled night with the local community.
 

May 2018 – Grand Opening ‘Ascent on Buderim’

ERSCON had a night of celebration for the grand opening of the newly built commercial building “Ascent on Buderim’ established by Majestic Developments. We shared the night with clients, family and friends, and enjoyed a meet and greet with all the fellow residents of the building. Our office move was brought upon by a need for more space with new staff joining us this year. If you have not yet seen our new office, please come by and say hello, and enjoy a coffee at the newly opened John Kyle Espresso Café downstairs.

September 2017 – Pacific Toyota International Futsal Club Challenge

ERSCON continues its sponsorship of the Pacific Toyota International Futsal Club Challenge, which was held at Redlynch Sports Stadium. The is the 8th year since the establishment of the tournament. This international event helps highlight Cairns and welcomes increased tourism.
 

Sept/Oct 2017 – The Morning Glory Festival, Burketown

ERSCON were proud sponsors of The Morning Glory Festival in Burketown, Qld. The festival is a time to experience and admire the rare natural cloud formation called Morning Glory. The festival joins the community together and includes a camp draft and rodeo, dance and art workshops, live music, market stalls, gala dinner, art exhibitions, kids activities and more.

The Cairns Wine show contributes to tourism and hospitality industry. And also promotes the local wine market and assists wineries with exposure in the region.
 

April 2017 – Geoff Shadforth Memorial Lecture

This year the speaker was solo aviator, Lachie Smart. Lachie is the youngest person to fly solo around the world in a single engine aircraft. He shared his story with the local community giving an inspirational speech about what can be achieved when you aim high and have courage. Heath Jones and Ben Faith attended this Lecture and a great night was had by all.
 

March 2017 – Shave for a Cure

Michael Thomas of our Sunshine Coast office, has dedicated himself to supporting the Leukaemia Foundation, and this year he again shaved his hair for the great cause. Michael with the support of ERSCON and staff, raised necessary funds for research and support to those affected and their families.
 

December 2016 – Kids with Cancer

Christmas being a time to share with family, ERSCON supported a great foundation though Christmas E-cards, Kids with Cancer Australia Foundation. Kids with Cancer Australia provides family assistance, and cancer wards in children’s hospitals throughout Australia.
 

October 2016 – Light in the Night, Leukaemia Foundation

Light in the Night is a magical event, lighting up the skies with lanterns in remembrance or support of those who have been touched by Leukaemia. Michael Thomas, with the support of ERSCON, participated in this event, raising funds for the Leukaemia Foundation.

More than 30 people took part in Aurukun’s inaugural 7km River To Ramp Fun Run on Sunday (11 October) from the Ward River to the Aurukun Boat Ramp – helping to promote healthy lifestyles and physical activity.

ERSCON were proud Sponsors of the 2016 North Queensland Local Government Association Conference, held July 27-29 for councils north of latitude 21. The event was hosted by Cloncurry Shire Council and included speakers on education, health and infrastructure and offers a chance to discuss issues facing local governments in the North. NQLGA President and Charters Towers Mayor Liz Schmidt said “It is imperative to continue to push the issues of the north and events such as these enable lobbying and networking opportunities so that our issues, both collective and individual, are crystalised and advanced,”
